Investment Thesis

For broad EM exposure the fee war is over and SPEM won on price: 0.07% against IEMG's 0.09% and VWO's 0.08%, with 3,000 holdings spanning the S&P Emerging BMI (note: it classifies South Korea as developed, unlike MSCI-based rivals). The +33% year rode the EM revival — AI supply chain in Taiwan, India's compounding, China's stimulus bounce. Cheap, broad and boring is exactly what an EM core should be.

Who It's For

Cost-focused indexers filling the emerging-markets slot of a global portfolio and planning to hold for decades, where the fee edge compounds. Investors wanting Korea included should compare IEMG.
