Investment Thesis
SCHF is the Charles Schwab equivalent of Vanguard's VEA, offering the same developed international equity coverage across Europe, Japan, Australia, and other developed markets at an equally low 0.06% expense ratio. For Schwab brokerage customers, SCHF trades commission-free making it virtually costless to own and rebalance. The fund covers approximately 1,500 companies across 24 developed markets, providing comprehensive non-US developed equity exposure as a core portfolio building block.
Who It's For
Charles Schwab brokerage customers seeking developed international equity exposure at the lowest possible cost with commission-free trading. SCHF is the natural complement to SCHB for Schwab platform investors building a simple two-fund global equity portfolio. Virtually interchangeable with VEA in long-term performance, making brokerage relationship and commission structure the primary selection factor.
