Investment Thesis

SCHE is the third leg of the cheap-EM triopoly with VWO and IEMG, tracking FTSE's definition — which, like VWO, classifies South Korea as developed and excludes it. The +22.4% year reflects the EM rebound led by China internet and Indian equities. At 0.11% the fee argument versus active EM funds is overwhelming; the choice among the three passive giants is index taxonomy, not quality.

Who It's For

Cost-focused investors adding dedicated EM exposure, particularly within Schwab accounts. Check the Korea treatment against your other holdings to avoid an accidental gap.
