Investment Thesis
FXI's 50-stock portfolio of the largest Hong Kong-listed Chinese companies creates the most liquid and tradeable China equity instrument available with the deepest options market of any China ETF. The heavy state-owned enterprise weighting in banking and energy makes FXI particularly sensitive to Chinese government economic policy decisions and PBOC monetary actions.
Who It's For
Tactical traders and institutional investors who need China equity exposure with deep options liquidity for hedging and structured strategies. FXI's options market enables sophisticated positions unavailable in other China ETFs. For long-term fundamental investors MCHI or KWEB provide better-suited exposure. FXI is primarily a trading and risk management vehicle rather than a buy-and-hold investment.
