Investment Thesis
Short junk earns nearly the whole high-yield coupon while Treasury drama passes it by — the borrower repays within five years or defaults, and rate wiggles barely move the price. SJNK is the SPDR expression of the same trade as SHYG: 7% monthly income as pure credit risk, the right shape for a year when duration keeps hurting.
Who It's For
Income investors consciously choosing credit risk over rate risk. Pick between SJNK and SHYG on fee and index taste — the strategy is identical.
