Investment Thesis

BIV concentrates on the maturity band that historically offers the best yield-per-unit-of-duration on the curve, skipping both the low-yield short end and the whippy long end. Against BND it runs a touch more duration and a touch more yield with no mortgage exposure; against IEF it adds a corporate sleeve. A clean, cheap way to own 'the belly' — which is where bond managers put money when they stop having opinions.

Who It's For

Core bond investors matching intermediate horizons — the natural single bond fund for a classic 60/40 who wants marginally more yield than BND.
