Investment Thesis

BIL is as close as an ETF gets to cash that pays. With a duration of about one month, its price barely moves regardless of what rates or markets do — the entire return arrives as monthly income that resets with Fed policy. That made it dead money during the zero-rate years and one of the most popular funds in America once short rates rose. It is the standard tool for parking proceeds between investments without leaving the brokerage account.

Who It's For

Anyone holding cash they intend to deploy later, investors building a T-bill ladder without the hassle, and portfolios that need a true risk-free sleeve. Not a long-term growth holding — it is deliberately the opposite.
