Investment Thesis
Short junk is the sharpest risk-reward corner of high yield: bonds within five years of maturity pay nearly the full sector yield, but their price barely moves with Treasury drama — the borrower either pays you back soon or doesn't. SHYG's 7% monthly income with roughly half of HYG's duration is why allocators use it as the junk sleeve in a rate-scarred world. Credit risk stays fully intact.
Who It's For
Income investors who accept junk credit but want minimal interest-rate exposure layered on top. The rate-hedged expression of the high-yield trade.
