Investment Thesis

IAGG and BNDX are functional twins: hedged international investment-grade bonds that diversify a US-only bond sleeve across foreign rate cycles without importing currency swings. The choice between them is ecosystem preference — iShares versus Vanguard — since fee, exposure and behaviour are nearly identical. What both deliver is exposure to central banks other than the Fed, which is the entire diversification argument.

Who It's For

Portfolio builders completing a globally diversified bond allocation. Pick this or BNDX by account convenience; owning both is redundant.
