BITO was the first regulated Bitcoin ETF in the US, giving investors access to Bitcoin price movements within a standard brokerage wrapper. While spot Bitcoin ETFs have since launched at lower cost, BITO remains useful for investors in accounts where spot crypto ETFs are unavailable, particularly certain retirement accounts and wrap programs.
