Investment Thesis
XYLD is the textbook BuyWrite: full upside sold every month for premium, converted into a ~10% distribution from the least-volatile index in the covered-call stable. It will trail the S&P in melt-ups by design and cushion nothing like a bond in crashes — the honest description is 'income now, growth traded away'. The choppy-market year suited it: +18% with the fat payout intact.
Who It's For
Income-first investors who prefer the S&P's steadiness to the Nasdaq's swings in their covered-call sleeve. Compare against SPYI's tax-optimised spin on the same trade.
