Investment Thesis

SPYD is the bluntest income instrument in the S&P 500 toolkit: take the 80 biggest yields, weight them equally, collect 4%+. No quality screen means it leans hard into utilities, REITs and telecoms — sectors that lagged the growth rally and re-rate when rates fall, which the +14% year began to show. Equal weighting keeps any one dividend cut survivable.

Who It's For

Income maximisers who want large-cap yield now and accept value-sector concentration to get it. The high-octane companion to quality-screened funds like SCHD — better income, fewer safety rails.
