Investment Thesis
Twenty consecutive years of dividend increases is a filter almost nothing survives — it spans the dot-com bust, 2008 and the pandemic, and what remains is a portfolio of businesses that treat the dividend as sacred. SDY then weights the survivors by yield, tilting toward the cheaper, higher-paying end of the aristocracy. It will never lead a momentum market; it exists for the two decades after, when compounding raised payouts quietly does the work.
Who It's For
Income investors who prioritise dividend growth and reliability over headline yield, and anyone building the defensive income sleeve of a retirement portfolio.
