Investment Thesis

QYLD makes an explicit trade: it sells all of the Nasdaq's upside every month in exchange for option premium, which is why it can pay over 11% — and why it will always lag QQQ in bull markets while still falling in crashes. The +23% trailing year (distributions included) shows the strategy at its best: choppy-to-rising markets with rich option premiums. It is an income machine, not a growth investment, and NAV erosion over full cycles is the documented cost.

Who It's For

Income-first investors — often retirees — who value a large monthly cheque over capital growth and understand the ceiling they're selling. Best in tax-advantaged accounts given the distribution mechanics.
