Investment Thesis
The ETN structure is the edge and the risk in one: perfect index tracking (+42% over twelve months as commodities ran) and simple 1099 taxation, in exchange for carrying Barclays' credit alongside the commodity exposure. For the supercycle trade executed precisely, DJP's two decades of history make it the veteran vehicle — though BCI's fund structure now does similar work without the bank-credit layer.
Who It's For
Commodity bulls who want exact Bloomberg-index tracking and understand an ETN is bank debt, not a fund — precision in exchange for issuer credit risk.
