Investment Thesis
Mid-cap value has quietly been one of the best risk-adjusted corners of the US market over long horizons, and VOE owns it for almost nothing. The fund's utilities, energy-infrastructure and financial names gave it a strong trailing year while remaining far cheaper than the S&P 500 on earnings multiples — the classic argument for rotating a slice of an expensive core into it.
Who It's For
Value-minded investors who want mid-cap exposure without stock picking, income seekers drawn to the ~2% yield, and anyone diversifying a growth-heavy portfolio away from mega-cap concentration at minimal cost.
