Investment Thesis

IWV is total-market investing under the Russell flag: large, mid and small caps in one cap-weighted sweep. Its practical rival is VTI, which tracks a nearly identical universe at a tenth of the fee — IWV's 0.20% persists on institutional inertia and benchmark-matching mandates rather than merit. For Russell-benchmarked portfolios it is the precise tool; for everyone else the comparison with VTI is worth thirty seconds.

Who It's For

Institutions and advisers benchmarked explicitly to the Russell 3000. Retail investors should compare VTI before defaulting here.
