Investment Thesis
GICS reclassifications broke the standard tech funds: XLK holds neither Meta nor Alphabet nor Amazon, because the index committee filed them under other sectors. IGM ignores the filing cabinet and owns technology as investors actually mean it — the +33% year captured the full complex, ads and e-commerce platforms included. The 5:1 split in 2024 made the shares accessible; the 0.41% fee is the toll for the broader definition.
Who It's For
Tech investors who mean 'all of big tech' when they say tech — not the GICS subset. The completeness upgrade over XLK for buy-and-hold sector allocations.
